Power of Social Media

IMG_1156Social media is actually useful. It can certainly be used for more than cat photos. We know, that is kind of a shock to read.

Are you marketing your book? Are you marketing your business? Are you marketing your philanthropy? However you are using social media, it can be beneficial to your cause.

Let us look at Susan G Komen (Team Pypeline Pompoms 2014 photo attached!) Here are a few ways social media can be used for an organization like this, but each of the line items can be used for a variety of situations:

  1. Events: The Susan G Komen Race for the Cure happens every October (This year was yesterday!) and as is with most events, you will want turnout. Post event details and make registrations quick and convenient.
  2. Details: Post details about your organization, as in where the money raised goes. It can also be useful when distributing information about a book or business.
  3. Questions: Social media is social, so respond to users who ask questions. Or even go so far as to share content from others that relate to your cause. Can also be used for crisis control when necessary.
