2016: Year of the Writer

imagesEven if you aren’t good at keeping your new year’s resolutions, there is one we think you should stick to—becoming a better writer. Start with the tips below and you will be on your way.

Read More: The best way to become a better writer is to read. Reading can fuel your imagination and help you come up with new ideas. While reading, pay attention to the authors’ writing styles and the words they use and incorporate the aspects you like into your own writing.

Set Writing Goals: Set goals for all aspects of your writing. How much do you want to write every day? What do you want to accomplish with your writing? Answer questions like these to have a clear plan for your writing this year.

Eliminate Distractions: When you are writing, try to eliminate as many distractions as you can. That means you need to steer away from TV, internet and your phone. Write in a place that is quiet, where you won’t be tempted by everyday distractions.

Share Your Work: This can be scary, but you need to share your work as much as possible. Sharing your work will not only get your name out there, but it will also allow you to receive feedback. You will have to take the bad criticism with the good, however, all the feedback you receive will help you improve your writing.

Happy writing and we hope you make 2016 your year!

I am immensely pleased with the work provided by Jenny Perry and Krystal Pyatt of Pypeline Editing. As a first time author, they were in constant contact with me, answering all of my questions, keeping me apprised of where we were in the process at all times, which allowed us to finish ahead of schedule. I look forward to working with them again in the future.”
