Grammar is Still Important

grammar2In this day and age phones are everywhere, and not cell phones from the nineties that had antennas and could perform one function. Cell phones are now mini computers with endless avenues to connect with people all over the globe. One can text message, snapchat, post on Facebook, write a blog or even post photos. Because of the impressive cameras on phones, and even more impressive photo-manipulating apps one can download, images seem like they win the show. I am here to tell you they don’t. Books, reading and of course grammar are still important. Languages adapt and change, that is the normal progression of evolution, but proper grammar is important in writing for these reasons:

  1. Clarity: Proper grammar and concise wording take confusion out of anything written. Remember that when writing memos.
  2. Professionalism: A message riddled with typos does not sound or look professional. You want people to not only take you seriously but think of you as the expert you are.
  3. Awesomeness: This one is a fun one, but serious nonetheless. Proper grammar is cool, don’t let anyone tell you differently.

I am immensely pleased with the work provided by Jenny Perry and Krystal Pyatt of Pypeline Editing. As a first time author, they were in constant contact with me, answering all of my questions, keeping me apprised of where we were in the process at all times, which allowed us to finish ahead of schedule. I look forward to working with them again in the future.”
