Writing in the Sand: Summer Writing Tips

000010827952With the warm summer weather, it can be difficult to motivate yourself to write. However, as a writer you need to write—it’s in the title after all. Below are some things you can do this summer to help you stay on track with your writing goals.

Make videos: While you are enjoying summer activities, you might not have a pen and paper, nor be inclined to stop and write, but you most likely have your phone with you. Make videos of some of the exciting things you are doing or videos talking about your day. You can review those videos later when you have the time to write.

Read: Read, read, read, and read some more. Grab a book and head to the beach. Like we say all the time, reading makes for a great writer. You may feel inspired to write on the beach while reading or get inspiration to write something later on.

Ditch the laptop: Write with an old-fashioned pen and paper instead of using a laptop or tablet. With a pen and paper you can write anywhere and you don’t have to worry about the batteries dying.

Enjoy your summer, and don’t forget to write!

I am immensely pleased with the work provided by Jenny Perry and Krystal Pyatt of Pypeline Editing. As a first time author, they were in constant contact with me, answering all of my questions, keeping me apprised of where we were in the process at all times, which allowed us to finish ahead of schedule. I look forward to working with them again in the future.”
