Best Apps for Writers

imagesWith today’s technology there are so many easily accessible resources for writers. Most people have a tablet or smartphone and there is an app for almost everything. Here are some essential apps for every writer.

If you are anything like me then you get your ideas at random times throughout the day. I don’t always have a pen and paper but I almost always have my tablet or phone nearby. The Evernote app is a great way to store all your ideas, inspirational photos and to-do lists for your stories. My favorite part about this app is that it is searchable so you can easily go back and find whatever you need. is a must for all writers. If I can’t think of a word or if a definition is escaping me I just click on this app and save my sanity. This app also has a thesaurus so you can find the exact word for what you are trying to convey.

If you are a writer and don’t have a blog, start one right now! It might be hard to find the time to manage a blog, but it is important for writers to get their name out there. The Blogger app is an easy way to start a blog and manage it on the go.

Prompts-For Writers

There’s nothing worse than writer’s block, which is why I love the Prompts-For Writers app. It is $2.99 for the app, but I think it is worth the money to get the ideas flowing. Your writer’s block will be cured and you can even share your writing on social media through this app.

Word to Word

Sometimes it is hard for me to focus on writing, so when I can’t concentrate I usually turn to the Word to Word app. This app is a word association app that will keep your mind thinking. Warning—this is an addictive game; once you start you might not be able to stop.

I am immensely pleased with the work provided by Jenny Perry and Krystal Pyatt of Pypeline Editing. As a first time author, they were in constant contact with me, answering all of my questions, keeping me apprised of where we were in the process at all times, which allowed us to finish ahead of schedule. I look forward to working with them again in the future.”
